Phil Patelis - Technology Consultant, Founding Partner

Phil has been working with technology all his life and is what we call a digital native.

Phil's main career in IT was served with 8 years at Dimension Data Australia which is one of the largest system integrators for Fortune 500 companies globally. Phil has worked with many of Australia's leading companies in many various fields including Government, Financial, Manufacturing, Medical, Engineering, Hospitality, Consumer, Broadcasting and Construction where he was involved in Engineering/Consulting engagements. In recent years Phil was the internal Infrastructure Architect for Dimension Data Australia where he was responsible for a large team of engineers and a complex ever changing infrastructure. Phil is well known for learning new technology before it’s released to the public along with his ability to integrate the latest technology into existing environments making sense of technology vs. business requirements.

Phil holds various certifications and experience including MCSE, MCP, A+, Dip. Mgmt, UK’s Office of Government Commerce (ITIL) and in past careers has even driven a truck delivering beer.

Phil brings experience, knowledge, and plain English to the table to roll out the best solution for your business.

Angus Mansfield - Technology Consultant, Founding Partner

Angus started working in IT in 2000, working as a Systems Engineer at Dimension Data. He worked on customer-facing projects in some of Australasia's biggest companies. These companies were diverse in nature, and Angus grew in experience in a number of different technological roles across a number of different industries. During this time Angus also studied and certified, attaining his A+, CNA, MCP and MCSE certifications. Angus continued to work as a Systems Engineer until 2003, when he relocated to the UK to pursue career and travel aspirations.

Angus spent 2 years in the UK based in London, working in Technical Team Leader roles and Service Delivery Management for some large global companies, including a number of global banks. His main area of expertise was the overseeing of the development and distribution of the software across these organisations. He also travelled extensively through Europe and South America during these years, and this may be when he developed his affinity for South America, having returned twice since.

Angus left the UK in 2005 and is now happily back in the warmth of Australia. As a Technology Consultant in XCentral he enjoys using his experiences be an IT Guardian to IT Orphans. He enjoys the challenges of making complex technology simple and understandable.

Joshua Niland - Technology Consultant, Founding Partner

Joshua's IT career informally began at age 7 when he programmed the family VCR. He was soon supplementing his pocket money with endless requests from family friends and relatives for his services.

His formal career in IT began when he took on part time work in the Academic Computing Support Unit whilst studying at the UNSW in 1993. Over the next seven years the diverse environment at the university enabled him to gain a wealth of experience on a wide range of computer systems and technologies, from Windows PC’s and Apple Mac’s to UNIX mainframes and a Cray supercomputer or two.

Graduating in 1999 with an Arts and Social Sciences Degree in Science & Technology and Sociology he migrated to the corporate sector. Over the next 8 years he worked as a Infrastructure Architect for both Dimension Data and IBM Global Services, two of the world’s leading IT solutions and service providers. This saw him designing and implementing key IT systems for some of Australia’s leading businesses within the Financial, Retail, Travel, and Aviation industries.

Throughout this time he strengthened his qualifications with industry certifications from Microsoft (MCP, MCSA, MCSE), Novell, (CNA), Cisco Systems (CCNA), and the UK’s Office of Government Commerce (ITIL).

Today he is returning to his roots in helping people both understand and get the most out of the technology that has become ever present within their lives. And yes this still includes the humble VCR!
